The Lascivious Biddies, an all female cocktail pop quartet based in New York City, have earned a reputation for having an energetic and tightly woven live show, full of laughter, expert musicianship and a dash of sentimentality.

At SXSW 2005 the Biddies made a splash with the media and fans alike. "If the Donnas are rock's answer to girl power, then the Lascivious Biddies are jazz's answer to female singularity." (The Austin American-Statesman).

The Washington Post calls them "Manhattan's Hippest Girl Group." According to Time Out New York, the Biddies' second album, Get Lucky, overflows with "angelic vocal harmonies, wordy humor, jazz chops and pop moxie."

CBS Evening News confirms: "The Lascivious Biddies could teach us all a thing or two."

What's up with BiddyCast?

Well, folks, you may have noticed a dearth of BiddyCasts lately -truth is, we're reformatting a little bit. Up until now, BiddyCast has been random chats with the band. That part of the 'Cast is not going anywhere, but we are getting a little more organized with the format of the shows. We have decided that the thing that makes us different from everyone else who is out there podcasting, is that we are an all-girl band that goes on the road. That is the unique experience that we have to share. The question we oriiginally set out to answer in the podcast was, "What is it like to be a fly on the wall in their van?"

Sooo...from now on, we will be podcasting more from gigs (including live music), and tours (like our upcoming tour to North Carolina and two concerts at NYC area homeless shelters) will turn into serial podcasts. A ten day tour translates to ten weeks of podcasts, and a storyline that we can all follow together! We will include more artist interviews in the future, and we will also spend some time on in-depth interviews with each Biddy.

Please leave comments below to let us know what you think!

xoxo

I guess someone should post...
I think it's a great idea.

Sounds good, but please don't lose that free-flow flavor of the earlier podcasts. That 'just shooting the breeze, what's going on' lightness really worked for me.

Love you all...

I agree, it's good just to hear you chatting but I also think that artist interviews would also be cool to hear, maybe with a little of their music?; I really enjoyed the Clare Fader interview.

I liked the "old" format, even though it "wasn't going anywhere." Though, I have to admit, hearing music will be a welcome addition (since I live in Colorado and you gals don't come to Colorado -- hint).
