The Lascivious Biddies, an all female cocktail pop quartet based in New York City, have earned a reputation for having an energetic and tightly woven live show, full of laughter, expert musicianship and a dash of sentimentality.

At SXSW 2005 the Biddies made a splash with the media and fans alike. "If the Donnas are rock's answer to girl power, then the Lascivious Biddies are jazz's answer to female singularity." (The Austin American-Statesman).

The Washington Post calls them "Manhattan's Hippest Girl Group." According to Time Out New York, the Biddies' second album, Get Lucky, overflows with "angelic vocal harmonies, wordy humor, jazz chops and pop moxie."

CBS Evening News confirms: "The Lascivious Biddies could teach us all a thing or two."

This is post 76

I have to confess (Lee Ann here) - I am in the middle of a somewhat long annoyed streak - falling rapidly into an IIC.** I run Panther on my iBook, and the latest update of iTunes 5.1 seems to have given it some horrible wasting disease. iTunes won't import anything over 3 mins, and now my MP3s won't even drag into GarageBand. They do, rather, but a 50 minute file appears with a wave that is only 10 seconds long. It's maddening! My neighbor and bandmate Amanda has a *sweet* powerbook I am sure I could make the podcast on, but she is not only overworked, but involved in playing music for the high holy days.

Do you feel sorry for me yet? You don't have to. I am actually in a pretty good mood today. The contents of that little rant, however, is why we are short on BiddyCasts right now. I re-installed my OS and it STILL doesn't work. And I don't have time for the genius bar at The Apple Store! It stinks. I have a bunch of footage from our last tour to organize and post for you folks, and it's making me crazy that I am not able to.

Al that aside, we've had a really really busy but excellent week. First of all, it's the Jewish high holy days: Rosh Hashonah and Yom Kippur. Many of you know this, I am sure, but many may not. New York City during these holy days is like much of the country at Christmas-time. People are absent from work, not too much gets done.

This weekend, Deidre and I had our first experience at NACA (www.naca.org) - The National Association for Campus Activities. NACA is basically a clearinghouse where musicians and other entertainment providers can peddle their wares for the student activities committees of hundreds of colleges and universities. This NACA conference was in Lancaster, PA and was attended by schools from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia & West Virginia. It was incredibly intense! There were almost 1000 attendees, and every moment of every day from 9am to 12:30 am had something to do in it. D and I came home pretty damn wiped out, but really excited about all the information and experiences we gathered.

So, many apologies for the late BiddyCast. I am now accepting donations of new Powerbooks (with the superdrive). Cash would do as well. Har dee har har!

We send you Biddy Love!

xoxo
Lee Ann
