The Lascivious Biddies in The New York Post!
Check out this mention of The Biddies in coverage of a wedding we played recently!THOMPSON, 31, AND PETERSON, 29
By LARISA DANCZUK
November 26, 2006 -- SEPT. 30 - "Fall in New York City is so beautiful, we wanted all of our wedding guests to enjoy it," exclaims newlywed Nikki Thompson. Though both originally come from out of state, Thompson, a budget supervisor for Televest Daytime Programs, and Donald Peterson, a marketing coordinator for Tekserve, now call the Lower East Side home and decided to make it a true N.Y.C. affair. The pair exchanged vows at AVEvenue's loft in Midtown, which offered panoramic views of the Empire State Building for the 115 guests that attended. Later, the newlyweds and their guests rocked out to the Lascivious Biddies, an all-female pop quartet, and noshed on "comfort" edibles, including mini chicken pot pies, mac and cheese soufflé cups and mini hot dogs in cheddar buns.
ESSENTIALS
First met: at Garage restaurant in the West Village
Dessert: cupcakes from Sugar Sweet Sunshine Bakery on Rivington Street
Honeymoon: one week in Mexico's Riviera Maya

Deidre Checks in from RIchmond KY
Hi Biddy Buddies!
Happy Voting Day! Hope you all remembered to "Cast That Ballot"!
Deidre here, checking in from the road. I'm sitting in my room in the amazing Bennett House in Richmond KY.
It RULES! It's totally gorgeous, with beautiful wood carvings and amazing showers that remind me of circus tents (probably only because I used to play in the circus).
We Biddies have hit halfway in the tour, and that means we are TIRED! It's the kind of tired that you can't even really explain, and that no amount of sleep or rest will cure. The only thing that cures it is being back home, and we still have several days left and many long drives ahead of us. This means there will be lots of negotiating for driving time, backseat bench/sleeping time, eating time, private time, radio time, quiet time. And there will likely be lots of business talk on our 14-hour drive to Atlantic City as well as Missy Elliott dance parties, as well as giggling fits, as well as (I'm sure) some tired snippiness and arguing which will be solved, again, by: sleeping time, eating time etc etc. The cycle continues.
So far we are having a ball and everyone has been as nice as humanly possible to us. People keep giving us chocolate!! We played in the Ballroom at Eastern Kentucky University to celebrate Election Day. We had some hardcore Biddy Buddies show up in Biddies t-shirts, Ken and Stephanie-and they had even made a cute shirt for their newborn, Gavin! Check back soon for a new "Biddy Buddies" page on the website with photos of fans. Thanks to all our Biddy Buddies everywhere-you are the reason that we do this!
Off to bed now (everyone else is already asleep) We have a clinic on Marketing tomorrow and then lunch at a winery (life's tough, eh?) and then the long drive. I can hear a train in the distance, and unlike in New York when you hear the train, here it sounds romantic and evokes images of wide open America. From Kentucky, signing off. Sleep well, all..

Union College in Barbourville, KY
First of all, we arrived in town late Sunday night to a very warm welcome. Vice President for Advancement Denise Wainscott met us on our arrival at Towne Square Place, our FABULOUS bed & breakfast. She took us out for a killer meal at La Esperanza mexican restaurant. We slept very well on our big fluffy beds in our own country-chic rooms. Next morning, Aleen ("Ah-leen") cooked us some incredible sausage crepes which we inhaled in about 5 seconds. MMMM! Thennnnn we went to a luncheon at the college for a few students and members of the faculty. College caterer Greg hooked it up. It was a big, delicious meal and a lot of fun to interact with folks on campus. Next, D, Sas and I went downtown (2 blocks away) to shop for pageant wear at Careen's Bridal & Formal. WOAH. I have to share that the pageant girls have glamour down to a science. I have never seen so many sparkles and built-in-bras in one spot! Coming soon: Kayne Gillespie's line! NEXT it was time to workout at So Posh (Thanks Meghann!). So Posh is a gym for women here in town that is decorated with hot pink walls, leopard carpet and chandeliers! Amazing. Naps next, followed by soundcheck and another great dinner by Greg. Denise broought us all travel mugs and snacks for the road all done up in a basket. We also got T-shirts from the college! FINALLY we got to perform at 8:30 over at the Conway Boatman Chapel. The acoustics were such that we sounded like a whole choir, and even performed The Anthem a cappella. There was a nice large audience full of all kinds of folks from the community - old and young alike. All told it was a success! We slept well, and woke to another of Aleen's amazing meals. This time it was almond pancakes with stewed fruit. MMMMMMMMM!
We are leaving for Richmond, KY this morning at 10:15. We haven't found a spot to get online and publish some more videos, but believe you me, we have some doozies-including some interpretive dance...
I am on a public computer so it won't let me get anything off my camera. Wah! Cross fingers we can get them up tomorrow.
xoxoxo

THANK YOU BARBOURVILLE!

Great press from the road
It's morning in Lynchburg, VA, and daughter Rachel is bent on making us chocolate chip pancakes before we take off. We'll make the grand sacrifice and gobble them up! We have had a couple of interviews come out this week and thought you might like to take a look at them:Alexandria Times
"The older we get, the more each of us wants to broaden our horizons, said Lane. That said, it is our commitment to the band and our conscious decision to prioritize the Biddies that lends to the success of the group.
Lexington Herald-Leader
"Well, we have graduated to a full-size van this year," said Biddies keyboardist Deidre Rodman. "We used to travel in a minivan. It became like a reality show: take four girls, stick them in a 5-by-5 box and have them drive 500 miles."The house concert was a blast. We had greattendancence and a very enthusiastic audience. Today we'll be driving to Barbourville, KY and staying there two nights. Stay tuned for more silliness!
We are dancing to Morrissey's "Hang the DJ" as performed by Dynamo's Rhythm Aces

Lynchburg, Va
Hey Biddy Buddies!
This morning finds us in Lynchburg, Virginia. We took about 10 hours to drive down here. The traffic yesterday reminds us why we NEVER drive through DC on the way to anywhere but DC. That said, we had a lot of fun!
We spent a lot of time chatting and catching up. Sas had been in Australia for two weeks playing with Dan Zanes, so we had to hear all about her trip. We also took some time to do a couple of "Psychic Saskia" bits. The internet connection we are on is a bit slow, so we can't put up all the videos yet. Maybe from Kentucky on Sunday night or Monday?
ANYWAY, I digress. We are staying at the home of X-Treme Biddy Buddies Jan, and Sam and their daughters Julia and Rachel. So far, all we have done is eat and sleep. In a bit though, we'll do a long day of rehearsing followed by a house concert and lots of snacks. Sam is a great cook and will be preparing lamb chops for dinner this evening. This touring life can be SOOOOO difficult sometimes. (wink wink)
