This is Amanda Monaco from The Lascivious Biddies and BiddyCast. In January 2005, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Please join The Biddies and our team, Team Biddy, on Sunday, April 22, 2007 at New York City's South Street Seaport for the MS Walk NYC 2007.

You can click below to join our team for the walk or make a donation through Team Biddy. 100% of the proceeds go to research programs and community support for people with MS. Last year we raised over $23,000 – this year, our goal is $50,000! Any donation – small or large – is a big help in our fight. Last year, there were many small donations from great people like you, and those small donations add up and make a huge difference!

MS attacks the central nervous system (brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves) by destroying the myelin, the insulation around nerves (think of it as electrical tape around a wire) which disrupts the information that travels along nerves to the rest of the body, wreaking havoc on a person. MS typically strikes between the ages of 20 and 50. It can rob a person of the ability to walk normally, speak properly, or see clearly. It can even paralyze. 200 people a week are diagnosed with MS.

Thankfully, I am doing well and have made adjustments in order to live my life as I always have, but there are others who are less fortunate than I. MS continues to strike people in the prime of their lives, and its effects can be devastating. We need to do everything we can to stop this disease and find a cure.

Thank you for your support!
